About me

Welcome to my webpage! I am excited to be a part of the Meridian High School staff and look forward to all the learning and discovery we will complete this year! I began my teaching career at Meridian in 1999. After having our daughter, I taught part-time at Millikin University from 2006-2012, before returning “home” to Meridian in 2012. Over the years, I have taught freshmen and senior English, United States and world histories, but my favorite courses are those I teach in Family and Consumer Sciences! I enjoy the hands-on learning with content that has many real-world applications.

I am also the adviser for FCS Club. This community service group works every year to complete projects to help those in our area. Some of our yearly projects include: organizing a crayon drive at our high school to collect crayons for children in local hospitals, “Trick or Treating” for canned goods to benefit our local food pantry, visiting our local nursing home, and working with the elementary school for several of their evening events.

Please explore my website, and if you have any questions or concerns over the course of the year, please feel free to contact me. Go Hawks!
